A GREAT EAT JAMAICAN DAY!

Dessert Tips Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, one of six Olympians endorsing the Eat Jamaican campaign, gets some dessert tips from JCDC Special Project Coordinator Dr. Pamella Powell. The event was the JCDC Regional Culinary Finals at the Chinese Benevolent Association in Kingston on Friday, May 6.

First Place - Eat Ja Sing-Off

Winner's Reward: Dr. Jerome Thomas, Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Representative in Jamaica presents a plaque and $5,000, courtesy of the "Eat Jamaican" campaign, to victorious Excelsior High School students who won the "Eat Jamaican" Sing-off Competition at the JCDC Regional Culinary Finals.

 

Second Place - Eat Ja Sing Off 

Cecil Thoms, Director of Communication & PR Ministry of Agriculture & Fisheries presents $3,000, courtesy of the "Eat Jamaican" campaign, to students of Boy's Town VTC for being runners-up in the "Eat Jamaican" Sing-off Competition. The students also received a gift basket courtesy of National Bakery.

 

Third Place 

Nicole West-Hayles, (left) Project Communications Officer, EU Food Facility presents $2,000, courtesy of the "Eat Jamaican" campaign, and a gift basket donated by National Bakery to students of Jonathan Grant High School for placing third place in the "Eat Jamaican" Sing-off.

Olympic Gold Medallist Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Doctor Bird, the "Eat Jamaican" campaign mascot are getting their groove on ahead of the formal programme.
