Al Edwards appointed CEO OF CVM TV.

Hon Michael Lee-Chin and the Board of Directors of CVM Television are pleased to announce the appointment of Al Edwards as CEO of CVM Television, effective May 15, 2012.

After reading law at the UK’s De Montfort University in Leicester, Al began his career as a Statistics and Information Officer with the British Civil Services. He then worked as a reporter at the London Evening Standard before moving on to the Voice Newspaper’s news desk. His next port of call was as Features Editor of Pride Magazine, which was eventually acquired by the Voice. He was later appointed as the Business Editor of the Voice’s sister paper, the Journal based in London. Phillips Publishing International Hart’s Euroil appointed him as Assistant Editor with responsibility for reporting and editing publications on oil and gas Exploration and Production activities in North Western Europe, including the North Sea, Norway, Holland and Russia.

In 2000, the Chairman of the Gleaner Company appointed him as a Senior Financial Reporter and later promoted him to financial Editor of the Gleaner Company. Al then went on to found and become the Editor of the Jamaica Observer’s Caribbean Business Report, becoming a senior member of that newspaper’s team.

Al’s experience garnered both overseas and in Jamaica, will prove invaluable in enhancing and growing CVM Television’s position as a leading Jamaica media company, both locally and internationally,” said Michael Lee-Chin.

Al Edwards is married to attorney Cindy Lightbourne, a partner at the firm of DunnCox. He is an avid tennis and soccer fan and enjoys literature.

CVM Television is official broadcaster of the London 2012 Olympic Games and the 2014 FIFA World Cup and is a member of the CVM Television Group which includes HOT 102 FM and CVM Productions.
